Bangkok travel
is much easier (2011) as it
was a couple of years ago,
thank to the new built
airport, BTS Skytrain and
underground or subway. Also
after starting the operation
of the Airport Link the trip
to and from Suvarnabhumi
became predictable.
A network of elevated
motorways makes it also
better for the cars to get
around. There are two ring
roads, the outer ring which
takes the traffic coming in
from every part of Thailand
and guide it around the city
if the drivers just want to
bypass. There are also some
places where the huge trucks
offload their cargo into
smaller trucks to be carried
into the city, it's
organized quite well. Of
course when disaster strikes
like Nov 2011 with the flood
almost everything breaks
down, that is rather normal
und would also happen in any
other city in the world.
They are also constantly
improving the system, only
takes always very long such
as the extensions of the BTS
Bangkok or Skytrain. |
